It has been a while since we put out a newsletter as it has been a bit of a different last 18 months or so. We hope the news below makes up for the wait.

BELA MD – The New Face of Skin Health
We are eagerly awaiting the delivery of our newest technology, BELA MD! This is the latest innovation in diamond microdermabrasion with serum infusion designed to improve overall skin health and address numerous skin issues. Viva is the only medical aesthetics clinic north of the Malahat to offer this fabulous treatment. We hope to be able to offer this service mid to late December. We are proud to select and support Canadian companies (Clarion) and their technology.

WHAT’S NEW NOW!
New this year is MICRO-NEEDLING. If you would like to know more about this service and what it can do for you, check out the blog on our website. There’s lots of information there. I also wrote a blog on anti-aging tips that I think is worth a read as well.
LASER SEASON
It’s laser season again. To help reduce browns, reds, and facial veins, this is the treatment you need. The laser also helps stimulate collagen so I highly recommend it once a year, even if you do not have color that you would like to improve. Absolutely NO TAN must be present, so the use of a zinc-containing sunblock for a month prior is crucial for safety and best results. Cate and Candace, our laser technicians are looking forward to seeing you this winter. Spots fill up fast, especially for later afternoon and Thurs /Fri appointments, so be sure to get yourself booked in soon.
DR MARAINA SMITH
Dr. Smith has joined our team and is available Wednesday afternoons from 2 pm – 5 pm for both cosmetic and therapeutic Botox treatments. For those of you who have been asking, NO I am not leaving. We are getting busier every month and having Dr. Smiths’ expertise will allow more flexibility for your later afternoon appointments.
SKINCARE PRODUCTS
Medical grade skincare remains essential to protect and treat your skin. We have 3 major lines: PRODERM, ALUMIER, and SKINCEUTICALS. I continue to love Proderm Gentle Cleanser and Regenerating cream for rosacea skin. Skinceuticals has an excellent array of treatment serums for melasma and I particularly love their tinted zinc sunscreen for year-round use. Our new STAFF FAVORITE has been a TRIPLE LIPID FACE MOISTURISER from SKINCEUTICALS. It has been a game-changer for all of us. It contains both lipids and ceramides to heal the lipid barrier in the dermis. If you are prone to dry sensitive skin (especially in winter), this one is for you!

CANCELLATION POLICY
As we are a busy clinic, we encourage you to prebook your appointment time well ahead. If you need to cancel, we do require 24 hours notice as we always have someone on a call-back who can fill that spot.
