Botox for Migraines and Headaches

Therapeutic Botox can be used effectively to reduce the intensity and frequency of migraine headaches. Dr. Pascoe has been extensively trained in the use of Botox for this purpose. The procedure involves treating numerous areas of the face, neck, scalp, and upper back. Many patients notice an immediate improvement of their migraine with the first treatment, however, repeated treatments at 3 month intervals usually result in an even more significant improvement. Patients are encouraged to discontinue use of their regular headache medication in order to achieve greater benefit. Patients can be referred by their family physician or can be self referred.

Many extended health plans will cover the cost of therapeutic Botox for the treatment of migraines. After the initial consultation, Dr. Pascoe will provide a letter for your insurance company.
